I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner- Board Certified (PMHNP-BC) who is focused on the treatment and medication management of individuals with eating disorders, disordered eating, body dysmorphia, boaderline personality disorder and boaderline traits.
As someone with personal experience of having an eating disorder and BPD I know how hard it is to find providers understanding of the unique challenges faced by the population. I strive to make sure my patients are heard, and work with them to help get them the proper medication and treatment.
We will work together in a team approach to decide how I can best help you towards a healthier body and mindset.
Within the practice you will be treated as a whole person. Often in the beginning when individuals with eating disorders begin to recover other symptoms get worse. These can include: alcohol or drug use, self harm, anxiety, and compulsive behaviors. These symptoms be treated as they affect your mental and physical stability.
I have worked with a wide range of clients with mental illnesses ranging from mood disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, and austism spectrum disorder. Eating disorders rarely occur exclusively. My goal is to focus on individual symptoms and give a person centered approach.
Remember: weight does not define if you have an eating disorder. Eating disorders can be deadly at any weight.
With proper treatment most individuals with BPD will show no symptoms within 5 years.
